“I bring regards from the night
And gifts, to the little ones
In the corners of your mind

Thanks for waiting
Thanks for trusting

I come with scars
and marks, form being
with the spirits
praying with angels
weeping with beasts
and laughing

Arriving in humbleness
and quiet tired.

Grateful and alive”

– Andre Clements, FROM THE NIGHT

She kneels

She bows

She speaks love’s sacred vows

Free

Bound by choice

Love seeks her with tender voice

Hand on her neck

His quiet recognition

Their eternal expedition

Breathe in

Breathe out

She grasps love’s hand, devout

Gentle

Vulnerable

Brave

By none but love ensnared

Her whole being, prepared

My flesh covers the tough clay,
my bones to rocks are metamorphosed,
that’s the cold northern star burning
in my eyes, those legs, those thighs,
my monstrous trunk, my erect head,
here it ends.

It seemed some purer voice must speak before
I dared to tread that garden loved of yore,
That Eden lost unknown and found unsought.

Out of the carbon vault of night,

the beautiful one has come,

suffused unseen with shades of night,

save for a ban of aural light

on shoulders draped in gold”
